Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as american restaurant, diner, family restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.

Hours are published for 7 days a week. Typical hours are 6 am–9 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. The listed phone number is (815) 722-6716. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone. Its website is louieswafflehouse.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.5 out of 5 from 2,114 reviews, which is a strong result for a pizza restaurant in Joliet and suggests consistent service.

I went ALL IN this morning: Big Breakfast Croissant, Stuffed French Toast, bacon, sausage, AND biscuits and gravy. No regrets. The croissant sandwich alone could feed two people, and the stuffed French toast (sweet cheese, berries, bananas, pecans, caramel) is dessert-for-breakfast done right. What makes it even better: this is a real family story. Betty and Louie Polimenakos ran Louis’ Family Restaurant for 30 years, and now their sons Nick and Michael β€” who were headed for engineering and medicine β€” came back home to carry on the legacy with Louie’s Waffle House. You can taste the β€œwe’ve been doing this for decades” in every plate. Don’t sleep on dinner either β€” they’ve got pasta, burgers, gyros, Philly steak sandwiches, and even a full pizza menu, so this isn’t just a breakfast stop. Bonus: snap a free pic at Waffles’ Photobooth (named after their dog!) right at the entrance β€” perfect for the ’gram.

I wasn't sure about eating here. Most restaurants I try are usually disappointing. This one was not. The menu was a little overwhelming, because it had so many options. I wanted a large meal for a reasonable price and settled on the pork chop dinner. I was expecting small cutlets with a fast food amount of sides. I was pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes. To add to the dining pleasure was my server, Ashley. She was very pleasant, friendly and personable. She was pretty attentive and kept the table clear of empty dishes. The pork chops were larger than my palms, tender and delicious. I finished the gravy with the first chop (I'm from the south and drink gravy). I asked for hot sauce for the other two. They even have choices for that, including Cholula, Tabasco, Louisiana and Franks. They have the best onion rings I have had in a long time. When you bite it, you aren't pulling onion strings, you actually bite onion. Very crispy, fresh and delicious. The sweet potato fries were also exceptional. I am used to getting overcooked shoestring cuts, but these were well cooked wedges. I highly recommend coming here, with an appetite. For all you veterans out there, they have your dis

A friend and I stopped in today for a later lunch. The inside and out were both clean. Gianna was our server who was amazing from start to finish. She was very friendly, attentive and appeared to do well managing the several tables she had. She was quick to get things when needed. The food was amazing. The Saganaki as an appetizer was good and the presentation of it was awesome. The cheesecurds came with a huge serving as an appetizer. The fried chicken sandwich was delicious, and good flavor. I posted a picture (I’m the one who ripped it before taking a picture). The Cajun fries were delicious and absolutely to die for. My friend also enjoyed his chicken wrap and onion rings. I definitely recommend this place and if Gianna is there, you definitely want her! This girl deserves to be a manager!

I was looking for breakfast close by with good reviews since the hotel breakfast looked like leftovers from the county jail. So, thanks to everyone and their reviews, I chose this place, and it did not disappoint. I had the meat omelet, no cheese. It was amazing. Biscuits and gravy were not it, but this was a Waffle House not a biscuit house (go elsewhere for B&C). The pancakes were β€˜mid’ but the ham, bacon, sausage and hashbrowns were very good. Sorry, no pics, because I was so excited to eat and be in the moment. The portions were big, I couldn’t finish my omelet (and I’m a big back). The price was on point- Affordable and fair. The decor is very retro yet modern (because 90s nostalgia is also modern) but, on the way out, my flabbers were ghasted. The *free* Photo Booth. I could’ve been there all day. Definitely the highlight of our weekend getaway.

Whoever opened this place really loved their dog he has paintings of his Golden Retriever on the wall. Bathrooms are kept aggressively clean by the staff, the only graffiti I found in the men's room stall was carved into it by a knife. I asked another Patron when I came in and she said she had been there a few times but couldn't find anything on the menu she didn't like The Portion sizes absolutely match the menu prices, that was the second biggest waffle I've ever eaten, and only Waffle House makes them bigger in my experience. I really enjoyed the crepes, and the sausage, links or patties were cooked perfectly. Not to greasy and just a little Juicy.
